Apply for a grant
Making grants to people with great ideas is the heart and soul of TGIF! See our “Get Funding” page for details on applying for a grant.
TGIF’s submission window for the 2007-2008 funding cycle is now closed. Please check back in the fall for information about when next year’s submission process will begin.
Apply to be the “at large” student delegate
TGIF’s Grant Making Committee includes one at-large student, who is chosen via an application-based process by the rest of the Committee. The selection is made each year after the six appointed members of the Committee have been chosen for the year.
TGIF has selected its at-large student delegate for the 2007-2008 school year. Please check back in the fall if you wish to apply for the 2008-2009!
Become one of the six appointed delegates to TGIF
Each year, the Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC), the Graduate Assembly (GA), and the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Sustainability (CACS) each appoint one student to serve on TGIF’s Grant Making Committee. Contact these organizations to find out how each of them chooses it’s delegate!
Each year, three non-students are appointed to serve on TGIF’s Grant Making Committee. The Academic Senate appoints one faculty member, the Vice Chancellor for Administration appoints one staff member from Administration, and the Vice Chancellor for Facilities Services appoints one staff member from Facilities Services. If you are a member of one of these groups, consider serving on TGIF!
Be TGIF’s student delegate from then Committee on Student Fees
Each year, one delegate from the Committee on Student Fees (CSF) serves on TGIF’s Grant Making Committee in a non-voting advisory role. If you are interested in serving in this capacity, consider joining CSF and seek the position!
Note: The CSF delegate is also eligible to apply for the voting at-large student position. If selected, the CSF delegate will then be a voting member of the Committee.
Volunteer to help out!
There is lots of work for TGIF’s Grant Making Committee to do, and we may occasionally need student volunteers to help us advertise grant opportunities or do other tasks! If you’re interested in helping out, please contact us.
Spread TGIF to another school!
Not a student at Berkeley? After originating at UC Santa Barbara, The Green Initiative Fund spread to UC Berkeley. Now, TGIF at UC Berkeley will happily provide advice and tips to students at other schools who wish to bring TGIF to their own campus. Contact us!
